The 2010 Electric Offroad Jimmy Babcock Racing League kicked off at West Coast R/C Raceway in La Mirada, CA this past weekend. Team Associated/Reedy/LRP’s Steven Hartson was the man of the weekend. With 30 heats and over 250 entries the two day event was the largest JBRL electric event to date.

Hartson battled with teammates Chris Jarosz and Brent Thielke for the TQ in both 1/8th Electric and 2wd Modified respectfully. Jarosz sat on pole for the 1/8th Electric main event and lead for the first few laps until Hartson got by and checked out winning the 10 minute main event. In 2wd Modified, Hartson and Thielke starting 1-2 gapped the field at the start and were no more than a second apart for the 6 minute main event. In the end, Hartson took the win in both classes getting off to a great start in the electric JBRL series.

Next up for the young Associated star is the JBRL Gas Series at Thunder Alley Raceway in two weeks. Last year over 300 entries showed up for the first round and similar numbers are again expected at the popular Southern California series and track.

Further to our announcement of Graham Alsop joining Schumacher on a 1/8th tyre deal we can now announce as promised full details of our range of 1/8th tyres.

We have been working very hard over the winter months and early spring time to provide our most comprehensive 1/8th Buggy tyre range. With knowledge gained by hours of testing provided by high level drivers and Schumacher Engineers these new tyres are sure to be a hit! Graham has been providing some great testing results against the competition, which have now been put into practice at the recent BRCA National warmup race at Frankley (UK) over the last weekend.

With (we believe) all A finalists using Schumacher tyres in either MINI Pin or MINI Spike format.
