With a reported weather storm on the radar, a quick change of itinerary from Coral Springs to Treasure Coast Raceway made round 5 of the Super Cup even more exciting. With this being a make up and additional race to the 2010 series, drivers were hyped and ready for action on the technical Treasure Coast track. Huge thanks to both the Coral Springs club and Treasure Coast Speedway for their constant effort and support of the racers in Florida.

Setup and practice was a snap and racers piled in and got ready for qualifying. The track started a little on the wet side but it quickly became grooved and wheelies became normality. Can everyone say Bar Codes…

R3 SMRC Copenhagen 2010

denmark300610

Summer holiday and school just a few days behind, LauraK set herself up to attend the first of her races this year. Having run only a few hours this season, being busy playing and giving violin concerts, and managing her grades in school, it was fustrating to leave her new Serpent S811 back home on the setup bench and grab her old and trusted Ishima racer from last year, to race this weekends SMRC cup 3 in Copenhagen. Truggy Cup In Belgium

belgium300610

Sunday June 27th Truggy Cup came to race at the track of Nbr Mol. The astroturf track which is recently redesigned looks great and isn’t easy to drive. It was a very hot day with temperatures rising 30°C which resulted in very high grip and lots of drinks.  After three rounds of qualifications it became obvious that all top drivers were very close to eachother, all 4 in 4 seconds! TQ was taken by Dave Liekens in front of Jorg Van Leuken, Kris Verlies and Bas de Konink.

12 Drivers went to A Final for a 30 minute race. From the start Dave Liekens toke the lead followed by Bas De Konink and Jorg Van Leuken. Bas De Konink managed to take the lead but he ran out of fuel a bit later. Dave Liekens went to the lead and again and stayed there for the complete race. After some bad luck it seems that Rc Speedhouse driver Liekens now finally found the way to victory. Jorg Van Leuken finished second in front of Bas de Konink.
