MidWest Nitro Series R3

mw300611

This past weekend, June 25th, round three of the MidWest Nitro Series made its stop at RaceWorld RaceWay in Griffith Indiana to a new series record of 150 entries. RaceWorld track featured a technical layout with many elevation changes.

Sonny Ochoa was the man to beat getting his Losi TQ in all three classes he entered. The win though, did not come with out a fight in the pro buggy main, as local fast shoe Randy Carthart put the challenge to Sonny in the first half, only to break a shock and limp (albeit competitively) on three shocks to a 4th place.

Second qualifier John Tomljenovic struggled with poor tire choice on his privateer Mugen to salvage a third place after frequent challenges from Hobbico own Scott Shinn Mugen. It was Mugen JConcepts racer Kevin Bronner with the drive of the day: salvaging his bump up starting spot to drive a very smart race all the way to 2nd.
