Battle In The Desert Championship Series

The final round of the Battle In The Desert series was held this past weekend at Competition Hobbies in Tuscon Arizona. The six race series was hosted by Scottsdale RC Speedway and Competition Hobbies. The final race was worth double points. For the final round there were 3 qualifiers and a single A main.
JConcepts Team Driver Tanner Denney went into the Mod 2wd Buggy finals with a 9 point lead over 2nd and with overall TQ in the final round it gave Tanner an 11 point lead going into the main. In the A main Tanner had a few bobbles which put him back into 3rd where he ended up finishing, taking the overall win in Mod Buggy.
Tanner ran Blue Bar Codes front and rear with the Profiled 1/10th buggy insert in the rear, stock inserts up front. Tanner was also testing the new B4.1 Finnisher body with the new High Clearance rear wing.
Other overall winners on JConcepts equipment were, Mike Friery, winner of the 13.5 Buggy Class. Mike ran JConcepts Bar Codes and a 6.5 V wing. The 4wd Class winner, Brian Causse, owner of Stick It 1, ran JConcepts Bar Codes front and rear and a B44 Punisher body with 6.5 V wing.

Garcia Goes RB In Spain

RB Products have confirmed the signing of Spanish racer Alberto Garcia for the rest of the 2011 season. Garcia is currently racing for Serpent and will be have his competitive debut for RB at next weeks Euros in Germany, he will be hoping of a repeat from last year when he made the final in Portugal as one of only two Spaniards, finishing 11th overall. Garcia went into the 2011 Spanish National season ranked 8th overall, and currently sits 16th with half the season to go.
