Well as the title suggests it was off to HNMC for the final round of the 2010 National Rallycross Series for an action packed days racing well for the racers that is as I was there to shoot some pictures. It was good to catch up with so many racers again that I haven’t seen in ages additionally get a sneak preview of things to come always great fun.

XRay 2011

Onto the racing the sheer talent that we have up the top of the pack is great however I have never been able to get my head around the ruling that if you aint fast enough your day is done and dusted after qualifying how sucky is that ? One will travel say 2 hours to a National event and have a grand total of 4 mins practice 3 x 5 min qualifying heats and then its sorry you not been fast enough so no final for you. Perhaps we will see change for 2011 but hey its not up to me.

What a really interesting new rear 4 holes in the rear suspension arms and then there is the completely new rear lower suspension holder similar to the Kyosho with square inserts very cool indeed. Look at these new design caster blocks for the front! Rear new caster blocks!

Hazelwood Leaves OS

Could Jon Hazelwood be looking to leave OS to run a Novarossi surely not we shal see what transpires! Its typically the time of year when a lot of testing takes place anyhow.

Back with the racing and after a truly eventful A Main which saw the 2 hotshots of the UK racing scene retire early Darren our 2010 National Champion with a popped drive shaft and Elliot Boots with a split fuel tank caused by a collision with a track pipe peg additionally bending his exhaust pipe and splitting his fuel line, after watching these two laying down the rubber and swapping the lead in an epic battle it kinda lost that captivating edge to it after flat after their departure.

Final

Elliot lost a season podium finish with this unfortunate result I am sure he will be back in 2011 even stronger that ever. Back to the racing and now on Lap 32 with a new leader running the show after sitting in 2nd place almost being lapped by Elliot was Simon who took over for a single lap out in the driving seat commanding the race when his rear shock came loose and that was that no more race leader. Neil who had been running in the no 3 spot seized the opportunity to sneak past Graham and take the helm with only one small position change for a single lap it was now Neil’s race with Graham claiming second and Chris taking the final podium spot.
